Living in the green Flemish Periphery

At the end of 2022, Revive became the new owner of the neglected industrial site in the center of Ruisbroek, a sub-municipality of Sint-Pieters-Leeuw. This project is one of Revive’s upcoming developments. It will be a residential project tailored to the needs of the neighborhood. We are currently still working hard on the plans.

The project

ACV used to manufacture heating boilers at this location, but ten years ago, production moved abroad to Seneffe in Wallonia. Since then, the old factory has stood vacant. Revive plans to demolish the factory and remediate the site.

The goal is to develop a sustainable residential project with a mix of apartments, single-family homes, and facilities that support both the community and its residents. Thanks to the underground parking, the site will be completely car-free. At this point, the number of housing units and their appearance have not been finalized, as the project is still in the design phase.

The beautiful green area behind the gardens of Boomkwekerijstraat and Pieter Cornelisstraat will be preserved as a public green space and integrated into the project. Revive aims to ensure optimal accessibility of the new neighborhood by creating pathways that connect to the surrounding streets, allowing the new development to blend seamlessly into the village center of Ruisbroek.

In any case, it is necessary to first draw up a new Spatial Implementation Plan. This procedure takes some time. We plan to break ground in 2025. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2027, followed by the second phase in 2029.

The location

Ruisbroek is a sub-municipality of Sint-Pieters-Leeuw and is located close to our capital, right in the heart of the green Flemish Periphery. The site is situated between Boomkwekerijstraat, Stationsstraat, Kerkstraat, and Pieter Cornelisstraat. Ruisbroek train station is just a 2-minute walk away, and by bike, it takes only 25 minutes to reach the center of Brussels. Thanks to its connection to the Zenne Valley, nature is never far away.
