Community building

What is community building?

When you buy a new-build home at Revive, you will be in contact with one of our community managers. The community manager is someone who will connect the neighbourhood in a very “hands-on” way, facilitating direct contact between neighbours, residents and future residents. We start by maintaining a good sense of community even before work begins. This can include, for example, our temporary purposes. We then seek to strengthen the community during and after construction. After a while, the community itself starts to live and the community manager starts to play more of a coordinating, facilitating role.

Why do we have a community manager?

B Corp says: “Make Business a Force for Good”. We build a new construction project that has suddenly made a community bigger, so it’s logical that we continue to help that community after construction and sale. Because, to stay with the B Corp motto: “Leaders build communities, not just profits”.
We can give people opportunities, make it easier for them to meet each other and establish real connections.
We also want to set a kind of good example and make people aware of sustainable options in the neighbourhood. B the change!

“Seeing people connect, that gives me energy”

Laila De Bruyne

What constitutes success for the community manager?

It benefits everyone for the community manager to be closer to the people than to the project. The community manager will continue to communicate and connect for at least 2 years after completion. The idea is to weave the vision of impact and sustainability and the needs of the neighbourhood into a community. Because broad involvement and shared responsibility is essential for the success of the community.
See som success stories of how we have already created a positive impact.

“What is important for the communities is also important in my own life, which is why I am happy to support them”

Susanne Koolhof

What is a community?

A society or community is a group of people who, together, form a semi-closed system within which there is interaction among group members. A community is a group of people with a common interest and/or shared objective. We aim to create community!

The duties of the Community Manager.

What does a community manager do? Their range of tasks is relatively broad and will differ for each project because we want to guarantee a personal approach. Not every neighbourhood has the same requirements, which is why every activity, project and person is intertwined with the neighbourhood. The community manager and the tasks actually grow with the neighbourhood. It is a process we go through together.

We can divide the tasks of the community manager into 4 categories.

1. Spokesperson

We will present the community within the project and the neighbourhood and try to make the community a prominent part of the neighbourhood. For this reason, the Community Manager will include the characteristics of the neighbourhood in all the initiatives.

2. Evangelist

The Community Manager functions as an evangelist of the community’s norms and values and actively promotes them both inside and outside the project.

3. Communicator

The best part of the role is connecting people with each other, but also putting people in touch with the right association, city service and so on. The Community Manager helps bring good ideas to life by facilitating communication with the right person. We provide a platform through which people who may have been uncertain now dare to take the plunge

4. Collector

An important role is to gather input and feedback from the community. We prefer to start with the tips offered by people in the neighbourhood themselves. We also ensure that initiatives are intergenerational and diverse, thus avoiding exclusion.
